The Bermagui Country Club Croquet Club
Croquet is played every Monday and Thursday afternoons at 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Visitors from other clubs are welcome. Also welcome are people who would like to have the game explained and demonstrated and to try it out.
The Croquet Club was established in 1997, under the umbrella of the country club. The croquet club and its members are affiliated with Croquet New South Wales. Croquet as a sport is sometimes called the thought sport. Beginners can find it a pleasant way of spending a morning, and with tuition develop a range of stroke-making skills. As they gain experience they can develop the skills that will enable them to place balls more precisely and plan their placements so that they can run a number of hoops in succession. It can be a challenging, highly tactical game.
In recent years croquet has become increasingly popular with young people, and some of the best players in the world are now in their twenties.
